How Do The Bible Describes Hell?
A lot of arguments from different religious background have been asked, as to whether its real or not. It has been a topic with mixed feelings.
The existence of hell has been elaborated from the biblical point of view and for me, it is a conventional belief that hell exists somewhere. Be patient with me as you read through this article and you will be convinced that hell exists.
The doctrine of hell is a difficult teaching for people to accept. It is one of the hardest things to accept in the bible.
However, there have been question upon question as regards the eternity of hell. Do people in hell suffer forever? Or will they experience annihilation at some point and cease to exist?
Jude 1:7 says, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire”.
Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their parts in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”.
Furthermore, Mathew 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”. Also, Mathew 25:46, “And these shall go away into the everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal”.
Mathew 13:50 says, “And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” and finally, Psalms 9:17 puts it as “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God”.
Dear friends, having read all these biblical verses, I believe strongly that you are now convinced that hell is real and exists.
THE DESCRIPTION OF HELL AS AN ETERNAL PLACE FOR SINNERS.
How does the Bible describe hell?
Originally, God’s intention for man wasn’t for him to end up in hell, but sin will make a lot of people end up in hell forever. It is awful to see God’s creation languish in hell.
According to the scriptures, It has been described as a horrible place, full of torture and pain. It is also a place where human spirits live on. There are several passages that have described hell as unending.
The book of Daniel 12:2 says, “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to shame and everlasting contempt”.
2 Thessalonians 1:9 says, “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might”.
All the passages of the scriptures above have proven that its not a comfort zone. On the contrary, its a place of no return; any person that is in hell has no opportunity to come back to life again.
Finally, it is not a pretty place to go but a place of suffering and regret of one’s sinful life in the past.
Anyone reading this post should kindly have a rethink of his or her life for the sake of eternity. In case you haven’t given your life to Jesus, this is a golden opportunity to surrender your life to Him.
Mathew 11:28 says, “COME UNTO ME, ALL YE THAT LABOR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”
