What Every Youth Should Know About Sex And Having Sex.
We are living in a society where youths see sex as part of youthful exuberance. To worsen the situation, nobody is admonishing them on the dangers of pre-marital sex.
Because we live in a society where people encourage evil as a lifestyle, our youths have been deceived to perceive sex as a societal norm and this empowers them with the credence to wallow in sin without feeling guilty while engaging in illicit sexual misbehaviour.
It takes only a few minutes indulging in the evil of any kind of illicit sex.
The social media has done more harm than good in advertising different pictures of sex and nudity; these have corrupted the minds of the younger generation as they are exposed to sexual misconduct as modernity and part of social life.
“Sex appeal” advertising techniques are also used in marketing and sales of a large variety of products ranging from edibles such as foods and cereal to cars to clothing and so on.
The proliferation of pornography, the glorification of the “hook- up culture”, and the lack of any sort of abstinence education suggests that sex is an activity to engage in at any time with any other consenting person.
In fact, the idea of “waiting” to have sex until one is married is no longer desirable, it’s eroded as an “Old fashioned ideology”. Even in the Christian Community, it has been a forgotten decision to observe chastity before tying the knot.
With all of this in mind, it may seem like an impossible task to convince youths that Sex is worth waiting-for and also a gift that God designed for marriage.
However, this article is aimed at encouraging youths to stay pure and decent before marriage.
Did the Bible encourage Sexual intimacy?
Yes, the Bible categorically say a lot about purity in Sex. In Genesis 2:24 KJV, the Bible explains, “Therefore a man shall leave his mother and father and be joined with his wife and the two shall become one flesh.” This especially shows that “becoming one flesh”, or Sex, is only to be within the unity of marriage.
This verse teaches that from the very beginning, God designed sex to be within the confines of marriage. With the basics of sex covered in Genesis, next; we move to the warnings the Bible outlined for those who do not follow God’s design.
Multiple verses in the New Testament warn us about Sexual misbehaviour. 1 Corinthians 6:18-19 KJV, stated “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person sins against his own body or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
This explicitly declares that sexual sin hurts our bodies differently than other kinds of sins. It tells youths to flee from it. This mean, do not give it a second thought rather run for your dear life, just as the young Joseph did in his time.
Another beautiful verse is Hebrews 13:4 KJV, says “Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
This proves that marriage is an honourable place in the sight of God and should be in society as well. It also gives another warning about sex activities done outside of God’s plan.
The Consequences of Sexual Sins:
When a youth considers indulging in sexual immorality, he or she should bear in mind that there are consequences that ensue after the act.
One of the prominent negatives is; sexually transmitted infections (STI) and diseases such as Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, and HIV/AIDS.
To be honest, most of these diseases are considered deadly by Health Professionals, should you know these consequences and hardened your heart to continue living in sexual sin, remember life is worth living as a youth.
All diseases not only kill but leaves the person to eternal damnation and eventually end up in Hell at last.
Peradventure, you have been living in sexual sin, Jesus Christ is calling you to drop it at His holy feet and you will become a changed person, it’s not late until you make up your mind to give it up at the cross.
Remember Mercy is calling you today.
Be blessed as you consider to stay pure for Jesus and Jesus alone.
